Written by South African clinical professionals, it provides background information to assist in management of difficult clinical issues. This information may be made available to the member at the discretion of the clinician.
Disease Management:
Articles that increase the understanding of chronic diseases and improve the control of diseases are freely available. Disease managers can access this information to educate and support members suffering from these diseases.
Information can be delivered to members electronically via e-mail or by hard copy. The disease manager should keep track of articles sent to individual members. This is to prevent members from receiving the same information repeatedly.
Research Database:
Information in this section is of a highly technical and scientific nature. Policies contain the summarised information of widely researched scientific articles that form the basis of some decisions made on high cost procedures.
This in turn produces the basic background for operational guidelines and SOPs. |
